Cafe St James, Surbiton

Visted: Monday 23rd July 2007

A real find off a high street of clones. Friendly, pleasant traditional caff.

Interior: Wood – lovely wooden tables and floorboards, but has a trad feel rather than a modern one, possibly provided by the menu being on blackboards rather than tables. Also the clientele felt traditional – large plates of full english with lots of white toast being consumed all around.

Food: I had 2 small poached eggs on brown toast and some grilled tomatoes. Was absolutely fine – the tomatoes particularly good – and the earl grey tea came in a mug.
